¿Están “quemados” los sacerdotes?
Aportaciones de la psicología: situación actual y perspectivas

El burnout representa uno de los riesgos laborales de tipo psicosocial con mayor prevalencia e impacto en la actualidad. El interés por sus manifestaciones en los sacerdotes es creciente en los últimos años. Partiendo de un enfoque interdisciplinar, se plantea el objetivo de sintetizar la situación actual y las perspectivas de investigación sobre el tema en el área de la psicología. Primeramente, se delimita el concepto de burnout y sus principales vertientes (instrumentos de evaluación, factores relacionados e impactos). En segundo lugar, se resume el estado actual de la investigación sobre el síndrome en los sacerdotes y las principales evidencias. En tercer lugar, se muestran las peculiaridades que presenta el burnout en los sacerdotes, a partir de las que se plantea la necesidad de promover una cultura de prevención eficaz.
